The term “City Slicker” usually doesn’t depict the nicest images when used, but I’m re-inventing the meaning into something more positive. Through my eyes when I hear the term the words that come to mind are “Edgy” “Upbeat” “Fast Paced” and “Night Owl.” As a matter of fact if I had a vision of what a City Slicker looked like this is what I’d envision. She stands out, but can blend in whenever she wants!
“Those are cute shoes!”
“Love that dress!”
“Where did you get that necklace?”
“That new hair color looks great on you!”
Do any of these comments sound familiar? Now, think to yourself did any of these compliments come from a fellow woman or a man. I don’t know about you, but very rare will you find a man complimenting a woman on her shoes or even noticing her new hair color. Check out the article from the Daily Mail a couple of years ago. I remember saying this to my husband and his friend one night during one of our many debates and they didn’t believe me. As women we can be the biggest supporters of other women, but the biggest competitors with other woman–both at the same time! So here’s a poll, let us know what you think and feel free to leave comments on this topic!
