Now that New York Fashion Week has ended, here are some of the looks that I love and actually wouldn’t mind having in my closet.
It’s that time of year again for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC. I was even more excited to be able to watch live streams of the shows via online since I’m in Atlanta. Don’t we just love when Fashion and Technology meet?! I have to say I was uber happy to see some of pieces from BCBG. What I loved especially about the pieces were the subtle hints of sexiness for the the spring, from simple backless tops and dresses to side slit skirts. I think it’s great when a woman can show a little skin, but it’s done tastefully. Here are some of my favorite items from the BCBG show paired with accessories from yours truly of course.
Not only do I love the the triangle cutout of this dress, but the floral print makes it standout more. I’m usually not a fan of florals, but this is a very flowy piece that I can actually see myself wearing. Paired with the two tone wire wrapped ring from my shop, gives it a great finish.
What initially drew my attention to this skirt the the contrasting sheer piece at the slit openings. I can actually wear this entire look right off the runway, works for the everyday girl like myself. The aqua gold wrapped ring will give this look another splash of pastel.
I think I’m going to have a thing for side slit skirts in Spring 2014 and the color chocolate! Lovely look and paired with the spear gold wire wrapped ring from my store turns simply to a slight edge.
It has been a while since I’ve showed off my stomach and this strappy top will make anyone want to. The pants and the vest are great finishes to this look and the rectangular copper metal dangle earrings will definitely complement it as well.
I am looking forward to see what other designers have in store on the runway for their Spring 2014 collection, so stay tuned into my blog for my runway reports or you can subscribe to my list.
For the past few weeks I’ve been taking the time out to enjoy a little bit of summer meanwhile trying to “renew” my mind, body & soul in addition to, major re-organization of my studio space and restoring certain aspects of the business. Sounds like too much to chew right? Keeping up with all this and house of 5 plus 2 dogs does become challenging…everyday is truly an adventure. The biggest project of all which is taking longer than anticipated is the re-organization of my studio space. It’s true what they say, “You can accumulate a lot of s&%t” over the years. With purging stuff, giving away stuff and finding functional efficient ways to organize things I realized I had to break this project up. I caught myself at one point just shifting junk and said you know what, today is going to be purging day which turned into days. I’m so embarrassed to even post a pic of the before, however, if you check my IG page I did manage to give a sneak peek. Realizing that I was going to need quite a few storage boxes and didn’t want to spend a single penny on a bunch. I realized that Little Model A’s diaper boxes and leftover fabric would do just fine!
While trying to complete this crazy cleanup and organization, I’ve signed up for Deepak Chopra and Oprah’s 21 day meditation challenge. I’ve done the previous ones and it was soooooo great! We all definitely need to rest our minds for a good 15 minutes a day. It’s not too late to join, you’ll be glad that you did! Day 1’s centering thought was “Today I’m open to the presences of miracles.”
Over the next couple weeks I’ll be ramping up for our Fall and Holiday/Winter Collection, stay tuned there’s so many lovely ideas! In addition, this year we’ve re-designed our Pink Glory Ring for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so be sure to follow this blog to see when we unveil the new design.
Now that Memorial Day has passed, it’s time to kick off the unofficial summer. Pastels and dark colors are in this season, so check out our Shop Lately sales event on some eye candy jewelry to accessorize your summer 😉
Do these comments sound familiar? “I love her style” “That fits her, but it wouldn’t fit me” “I’m not crazy about that dress” “I’m not sure I’d wear that” There are different aspects to each one’s style, that’s what makes us each unique, whether the newest eye candy bracelet or your Grandmother’s wedding ring.
As a mom on the go, I know how important style is, but I also know how easy it is to get caught up in busy schedules and everyday life so getting “pretty and prepped” everyday needs to be done in ten minutes or less. Here are some cute ModMom looks that take 10 minutes or less to replicate.
My philosophy is true style is more about how one “feels” about themselves, if they feel absolutely great about themselves it’ll “show” in their appearance. CLICK TO TWEET

Even though this so-called spring weather still lacks the meaning of “spring” we can use these cold days to prep our closets for the long-awaited warm spring days. As we know jewelry can be a challenge to organize. For me, bangles have always been an organizing challenge. My best tip is try different organizational methods to see which works best for you and to help you with that I’ve posted some really neat ideas that I’ve found on the web. Enjoy!
Spring is almost here and this is the time of year we like to clean EVERYTHING and get organized. For women one area that can get disorganized is our jewelry area. Here are some beautiful and wonderful ways you can rearrange you jewelry box this spring. The key is to keep all of your pieces visible so that you can see what you have.
This jewelry display is very simple and cost effective, with some foam board and your favorite scrapbook paper you can achieve the same look. Then you can use trays to store your watches and cute old jewelry boxes to hold your bangles. When I saw this on Honey We’re Home blog–I had to re-post it!
This next idea comes from DIY Design Fanatic blog. With a piece of plywood, your favorite fabric and really nice dresser drawer handles you can create this beauty. What I love most about this design is the silver hardware against the aqua stencil.
This is a great way to make use of those seldom used tea cups or if you don’t have any, try shopping thrift stores for a few cute and colorful ones. Even small dishes work well. These are great for storing rings, small earrings or dainty necklaces. I saw this great display on Elisabeth Newton’s blog.
This DIY jewelry tree is absolutely breathtaking. Adding the mirror beneath it gives it a nice touch as well. With some tree branches, spray paint and glue you too can have something this beautiful. Check out Centsational Girl blog for instructions.
There are selected days where I will run out of the house and forget my earrings. Not only will my sister, Miss Mikelah of Style and Vibes, blatantly point it out, but I feel naked without them. It’s the one added jewelry piece that makes a huge difference in your well put together daily outfit. Don’t believe me? Try removing your earrings and look in a full length mirror, then add them back. See a difference don’t you? I remember one day I was at work and realized that I forgot to put earrings on that morning. You know what I did on my lunch break? I went out and bought not one pair, but 2 pairs (thank God for working only a few blocks from the Fashion District) and kept one as a back up in my handbag–a trick I learned from little sis!
We’re taking a poll. Which jewelry piece is a MUST have everyday, even if you forget anything else?
