In my opinion there are very few artists to date that create music that’s fitting across all cultures, unite people and that you can listen to with your children around. One of Little Model A‘s favorite books is actually “One Love,” I’ve been reading the book to him since he was 3 months old and he can read it by himself now at 2. Today we wish Nesta Robert Marley a very Happy Birthday! Here are some beautiful art pieces from my fellow Etsians
Coming from a 100% Jamaican household, we grew up hearing the songs of Bob Marley. A man that touched so many people across cultures through his music, now that’s “SWAG” as the “youngsters” call it now! Here are some awesome Etsy Bob Marley artwork and a clip of one of my favorite songs by Bob.
There’s a lot activity going on in my homeland, just say a prayer that things get better soon.
One of my favorite designers the “Slovak Jamaican” Lubica Slovak has teamed up with one of my favorite singers, Tami Chynn and created the most edgy and girly apparel collection ever. Bubbling with excitement, I personally cannot wait until the collection is released. Unveiling the collection on April 7th, Lubica’s designs are definitely must “haves” for the summer.
Jamaican rum cake is one of my favorite cakes. Growing up, around the holidays I use to enjoy holiday house hopping and the tasting of various rum cakes. So you can imagine the excitement I had when I came across B’s Jamaican Rum Cake on Etsy!!!! I was ecstatic beyond belief. She even has Rum Cake bites–perfect for gift giving.
Talk about innovation and creativity, this new clothing line based out of Atlanta, Georgia called “Rep Ja,” is definitely representing. Their exclusive line of graphic tees with Dancehall dance moves and Patois lingo express Jamaican culture and music in a very unique way. Check out their limited edition of “Nuh Linga” tees, of course the “pink” one is my personal fav.
