What started as custom order from a dear friend of mind has turned into a profound message that many can relate to. Sometimes little trinkets, like jewelry pieces like this are a gentle reminder that we should be in pursuit of our true dreams.
We all have dreams that one day we hope will become our reality. Whether it’s starting your own business, traveling the world, paying off debt or crossing items off your bucket list, the important thing to remember is that dreams are possible and can become your reality if you allow them. So ask yourself right now, what are your dreams? What’s stopping you from going after them? What can you do right now to get yourself on track to pursuing them? Now by no means am I an expert on giving advice in this arena, BUT I do know of a few things that have helped me along way. Here goes:
Get in company with those who have similar dreams of what you’re trying to accomplish
In other words, build a support system with those who are trying achieve the same dreams and goals as yourself. It helps, trust me. Now I know many of you may say where do I find these individuals? Social media groups, meetups and networking events are an excellent place to start. No excuses, there are so many Facebook Groups that you can join to find these support systems.
Start each morning reflecting on your dream
It’s time to change your mindset, each morning take 5 minutes to sit down and really think about your dream, get all that positive energy in to start the day.
Do something each day that takes you a step closer to that dream
I think the classic excuse people tell themselves is “I’m busy” or “I don’t have time.” Well you know that 1 hour you spend scrolling through social media feeds (yes we all do it), that is now your reclaimed time, use that one hour to do something related to pursuing your dream. Now I’m using the social media analogy, but there are other ways we waste our time throughout the day so if it’s not social media then it’s probably something else, just get busy that’s all that matters.
Comparison is the thief of joy
Stop comparing yourselves to others. It doesn’t do you any good. You can and will be great at whatever it is you’re trying to achieve. Everyone has a different story. Just because someone had a struggle story to achieve their dream doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to have the same exact story. As a matter of fact, you’re probably not.
Reward yourself when you hit milestones
Each time you hit a small goal or milestone reward yourself with something. It can be something small and save the big celebrations for when you hit major milestones. Rewards help keep us going.
