Before I had kids, I use to hear mothers say that motherhood was one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding experience. I really didn’t understand the meaning of that until my twin stepsons came to live with my husband and I when they were ten years old. I think my biggest challenge at the time was having to go from being the weekend “fun” mom to now being a mom who had to enforce rules, responsibility, as well as, being a nurturer. Four years later we added another little boy, our little firecracker. Now it was learning how to be a mom to a newborn and now teenage boys. Let’s just say the conversations that go on in Campbell household could be its own reality show.
As mom, the best accomplishment has been watching my children grow and settle into their own personalities. Can I be honest for a moment? Being a mother is overwhelming and at times, and definitely isn’t for the “thin skinned” and if you aren’t careful you can lose yourself in what I like to call the monotony of motherhood. One day you’ll look in the mirror and realize that it has been months since you’ve had your brows threaded or it has been a while since you’ve taken that hot bath with aromatherapy oils you love so much. I believe it’s important to still remember the little things that make you feel beautiful and great about yourself. That’s one of the reasons I design jewelry for women. I love helping women feel great and confident about themselves. Sometimes the simplest jewelry piece can change the mood of a person.

The MTV Movie Awards aired this past weekend. Hopefully, you got a chance to watch if not don’t worry I’m sure it’ll be airing all week long 🙂 . Check out the 19 Sexy, Scandalous and Unforgettable moments of the show, some of them are pretty funny. This year The Pink Locket was able to participate in a great opportunity. In association with The Artisan Group, The Pink Locket participated in an invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge hosted by GBK Productions on April 8-9, 2016 at an exclusive location in Los Angeles, California in honor of the MTV Movie Awards nominees and presenters. Select press and media attendees received the beautiful Elle gold cuff bracelet in their swag bags. How cool is that?! I’m still excited!
The Elle gold cuff bracelet is one of those transitional jewelry pieces that you can wear to the office then out to drinks with your girls or can even be worn to dress up a casual look. It’s very lightweight and durable, that you’ll never want to take it off. Not mention it makes a great gift!
Spring jewelry sale going on right now. If you see something you love snag it, because it’ll be the last time you see it. We’re making room for new collections and designs. Here’s a peek at some sale items, to view all sale items mosey on over to The Pink Locket store.
Happy Leap Day everyone! I’m back on schedule with Make It Monday. I decided to do something a little different this time. Today I’m going to give you a little peek at part of the design process of my Rough It Cuff. When I created back a few months ago, I posted a pic on my Facebook page and received so much great feedback, so I figured why not show a little background on what went into creating it. Just click the image below to see the video. Don’t forget you receive 30% off your first order when you sign up to my list.
I love surfing Pinterest to find new ways to help me with storing my jewelry. I think there is a general consensus that jewelry needs to be visually displayed in order for it to be worn. Think about it, the earrings or necklace that you see regularly are probably the ones that get worn most of the time. Then one day you clean out your jewelry drawers to find a “blast from the past”, low and behold you find that one bracelet you thought you’d lost. Here are my top four jewelry storage ideas that I love, hopefully you can incorporate them into your own jewelry storage.
The Regular Jewelry Box
This is my favorite for many reasons, one being it’s necessary to store your valuable jewelry pieces, like family heirloom jewelry, precious diamond earrings, you get the idea. This a really cute stackable one from Anthropologie . It’s a bit pricey, but you can find one that suits your taste and budget anywhere.
Jewelry dishes are storage items that you need in bulk. It’s great to have several since it’s easy to store rings and small earrings in. They even fit great in drawers. Check out this one from Paragraph Loop.
Chainlink Wall Storage
I saw this at Target one day and I thought it was such an easy, not to mention, unique decor way to showcase your jewelry. Plus it’s only $10!
Jewelry Cork Board
Cork boards are excellent ways to store and display necklaces. Ones that are nicely framed like this one from You Matter Designs will look great on your bedroom wall as well.
What makes jewelry unique is that you can style it however you like. Jewelry is one of those accessories that can make the most basic outfit look like a magazine glamour shot.
Here are some great ideas to help you style your own jewelry with your wardrobe.
Simple geometric shaped jewelry work well across various styles. Here are a pair of bangles that accent a business attire look. Looks simple beautiful and classic.
A perfect way to pair a statement ring with stacking gold bangles pulled off with basic denim and a blazer.
This is a perfect way to layer necklaces. Start with a choker, then choose a mid length chain piece and finish off with a longer chain.
A great way to stack rings using two different types of metals. You can even play of this look using different texture metals like shiny, matte, polished or distressed.
