We all know a few nice pair of flats are closet must haves year round. I usually don’t buy flats that are too expensive for the simple fact that by the following year I need to replace them. However, over the years I have learned that if there is one thing you should invest in it is your shoes and comfort is a must (especially with flats).
On one of my Target trips one day I decided to peruse the shoe section to check out their selection of flat shoes. I was blown away by the selection, then I started trying them on to see how comfortable they were. Now there are two types of shoes I refuse to “wear in” and those are sneakers and flats. I came up with a rating system to rate the ones I loved below:
Brand: Brand’s Name
Cuteness: Scaled 1 through 5. (1 being not very cute and 5 being beyond cuteness)
Comfort: Scaled 1 through 5. (1 being bunion city and 5 being very very comfortable)
Price: Scaled 1 through 5. (1 being not worth the price and 5 being nicely priced)
Overall Score: 3 through 15 (15 being the best bang for your buck)
Hope you find it helpful. Be sure to subscribe to my list for more style tips.
When I originally heard of the idea of shoe clips all I could think about were those annoying clips that we use to have to wear on our shoes, that would bother the tops of my feet and couldn’t wait to take them off. Then I began to discover a whole new love for them when I realized I could create shoe clips that I liked and not just some generic ones from the 80s (not that there’s anything wrong with those–just not for me). Plus these make a great addition to your spring flats.
In this DIY I’m going to show you how to create your own shoe clips, you may even become addicted and start making several.
- Using a toothpick apply E-6000 (or glue from glue gun) on the top of the alligator clip.
- Apply one of your largest rhinestones to the top of the alligator clip.
- Now apply the smaller rhinestones to the bottom of the alligator clip. Allow the glue to dry partially and open the clip to remove any excess glue on the inner part of the clip.
- Repeat the same steps for the 2nd alligator clip.
- When you’re done you’ll have something that looks like this.
Some people can’t wait to see what looks strut the runway, I on the other hand can’t wait to see what struts the street during NYFW. Frigid weather and all, the street styles you see during Fashion Week shows that fashion prevails in any kind of weather. Since I’m not in attendance, I’m very thankful to the internet and the two hash tags #nyfw #streetstyle. There were so many looks to choose from, but I settled on this one because the boots say it all.
